Justin made his way down to The Right Spot. A great little place that sold all the best equipment for your water adventure needs. It was his cousins birthday and he really wanted to get him a board. He was from the city but he was coming here to visit and he figured while he was down that he had better intruduce him to the wonders of surfing. He smirked a bit. The kid was going to be 13, iti was a good age to be doing this and he was surprised his aunt was allowing him to travel alone. Coming all the way from New York, god only knows what the kid could hit on his way here.
Maybe he would get him a normal one and put his own designs onthe board. He thought a moment, his arms crossing a bit as he placed his chin in his hands. His eyes focused on the boards in front of him. They were hand made by the owner, he was an excellent board maker and Justin trusted him wholly.
He ccouldnt quite decide yet, too much on his mind so he moved around the store. He needed some new goggles anyway. He moved over to where the snorkling goggles were and grabbed a pair of dark blue ones and a pair of black ones knowing his brother needed a pair as well.
Finally not really having the money to spend anymore, nor the time he moved back over towards the boards, he really needed to decide. His cousin would be down soon. [/blockquote]

Ivory had up and decided that she wanted to learn how to surf. She didn't yet have anyone to teach her, or have any idea on earth how to do it herself, but she did know that she wanted to learn, and once she put her mind to something, it was hard to get her to give it up. So on a spur of the moment trip into the town, she'd decided to stop by the surf shop and look at the boards. She had no idea how much a surf board would cost, so she didn't know if it would be in her budget, but it couldn't hurt to look.
She entered the shop and looked around until she spotted the surfboards. Another person was there, a boy that she vaguely recognized as being a resident of the island. She loved them, because it was nice to know there were people around without cancer. It was refreshing.
She was looking at the boards for a few moments, as she tried to remember what his name was. Eventually she had to accept that she was at a loss. She wanted to talk to him but she didn't want to embarrass herself, though that generally wasn't a big deal to her. So she continued to stare blankly at the surfboards. A lot of them were... pretty, but she wasn't sure how beneficial that was to one who was surfing. She really just needed to get someone to teach her, she couldn't even pick out a surfboard on her own. [/blockquote]

Justin ran a hand through his hair, maybe hed just forget it and come back another time. yeah thats what hed do. he turned to go, but nearly bumped into a girl that was near him. He looked at her, hed seen her around the island, this much he knew for sure. She was pretty ... usually that caught his eye. He smirked a bit and then noticed she was looking at the boards a lost look on her face.
"need some help?"he asked. "You dont look like you know what your doing"He laughed lightly. "Dont mind me saying so...its okay if you are, if yourr not and your really a master at this then... i retract my statement and hope you dont take offence to it'He said with a small grin on his face. Ivory jumped as the boy next to her spoke. She'd almost forgotten all about him as she got absorbed in studying the boards on display. She flushed as he seemed to have noticed that she was under a certain level of distress.
"Um..." She laughed girlishly. "Yeah, I've got no idea what I'm doing. I want to learn to surf," she said by way of weak explanation. She realized just how ridiculous that sounded. What kind of person decides they're gonna learn to surf and then skips off to a surf shop where they don't even know what they're doing? No one. Except her, clearly.

"ah...'He said, and smirked. "Well...'He said. "Ive got the perfect board for you"He said, 'but under one condition"He said holding his finger up. "you allow me to teach ya how to surf"He grinned with a smirk.
He had a training board at home, the one hed used when he first started outt. It would do perfectly on her, it was for newcomers. He grinned at her, his eyes flashed a bit.

Ivory's face lit up. Apparently she'd run into the right person. He had a board she could use? That was good. Her eyebrow arched in curiosity as he mentioned a condition, and then she smiled, flushing lightly again.
"I take it you're some sort of surfing expert?" Her eyes flashed teasingly at him, her smile widening a bit. "Alright. That sounds like a more than fair deal," she continued before he could even respond. She'd needed a teacher anyway. This was simply conveinient. Plus.. the boy was hot.

He smirked witha shrug. "You could say that'He said when she asked if he was some sort of surfing expert. "Come on"he said going to pay for his things, 'Ill take you to the beach, ive got my board set up down there already"hesaaid, 'We can start now..."he payed for his things grinning at the girl behind the counter before taking his bag of purchases and then headed for the door with her. "Im justin Johnson"He said holding his hand out to her.

Ivory laughed. Apparently she really had run into the right person, if he was that good at surfing. She followed him to the counter, where she presumed he was paying for the things he'd picked out.
"Right now?" She asked, surprised. Wow, well that was fast. She shrugged to herself. She had wanted to learn how to surf. She smiled at him and walked outside alongside him. "Ivory Soule." She briefly wondered wether or not she should inform him she was a cancer patient. Then again, she wondered if he already knew that. Most people on the island knew who was who. She, for instance, knew that he was a native to the island and not a cancer patient.
She sighed. He was going to find out now anyway, as she needed her bathing suit if they were heading right to the beach now. "Do you think we could swing by the school? I need to grab my bathing suit from the dorm," she explained.

He shook her hand and grinned. "Pretty name'He saaid, 'You know thats unique... i havent heard that name in .. well ever. usually its like ruby or... well something like that, but ivory..."he nodded. "Very nice"he winked at her. He pulled his sunglasses from his pocket and put them on to sheild out the bright sun.
He started for the beach. People did have cars around here, but not many people used them, the island was that small and most things were in walking distance, unless of course you needed to get to the other side of the island, which was kind of a long distnace to walk. Or if you were trying to get to the school which was a little ways away from town.
AT her words he raised his brows. "the school?"he asked, not sure which school she was talking about. They had the special school and then the other school. Most of the students of the regular school didnt live there, becuase of how close they were to t heir homes but some wished to so they didnt have to live at home, plus there were some non-islanders that went to the school too. He was never sure who he was meeting. Usually if it was a new person they were from the special school but sometimes peoople just moved there because of how nice the island was. Not that he was against the kids that resided at the otherr school, but... oh well.

Ivory laughed, blushing a bit. She heard that a lot, that her name was rather unusual. But she loved to stand out in a crowd, so she was more than okay with having an unusual name. She pulled her own sunglasses from on top of her head, covering her eyes with the oversized lenses.
She nodded, biting her lip as she took a turn towards the school, her school. She could only hope that he wasn't going to judge her for going there. Cancer wasn't contagious, but in her experience she'd realized that many people treated it like it was, like if you got to close to a cancer patient you'll catch cancer.
Ivory herself had Ovarian Cancer, and had been told several times in her life that she only had a few more weeks/months/years to live, but had always overcame that time period and kept on going. She was a fighter, and she never let the cancer get in her way. Hence her recent desire to learn to surf.
"Yeah....I.... yeah..." She didn't really know what to say, so she stopped herself before she made an absolute fool of herself.
